Farmer B’s Veggie Enterprise has hit the jackpot with the cucumbers and tomatoes.
The tomato vines are crawling up the walls, along the ceiling and exploding out the windows of the green house. And I’m not bull plopping you.
This afternoon he asked me, “Would you like me to go pick some tomatoes from the greenhouse ceiling for our dinner salad?”
I’m telling you, it’s an odd state of affairs out there in that garden!
The cukes have gone stark-raving crazy. They’re creepy.
This is a cucumber patch run amok!
There are cucumbers under those leaves… somewhere. I’ve never seen cucumbers hanging from a six-foot fence post before. But Farmer B has an impressive crop of little cukes fleshing-out along the branches of his fence post cucumber tree.
This could prove to be rather strange, considering some of the cucumbers he’s recently hauled from the garden have been the size of NFL footballs.
Potatoes & Onions
Oh Dear! The deer sampled, then trampled the onions. I guess they didn’t like them. The potato plants flowered beautifully, giving promise of a bountiful harvest of spuds. When the big day finally came for Farmer B to take his pitch fork to the tater hills, all he got was a mess of potatoes au rotten.
It wouldn’t surprise me if next year Farmer B creates a species of above ground ‘potato trees’ to match his magical cukes and tomatoes.
Basket of Veggies
Finally, here is a picture of God’s garden. How amazing that this garden appears to grow with the perfect amount of soil, fertilizer, sunshine, rain, seed and everything it needs!
The heat of summer has slowed Farmer B’s Veggie Enterprise down for the season. Operations will pick up again in the fall.
Until then, the cucumbers are threatening to overtake the entire garden. And the tomatoes have laid siege to the greenhouse.
Watch for another exciting adventure of fun-filled travel to a foreign destination coming to you soon!
Good photos.
Veggie gardening is full of trial and error, but none that's ever an end of the world event.
So we go on, full of optimism for next year.
If only the global situation was the same.
