Ha! Since Hubs is clearly still farming away and -- as far as known -- in full possession of all limbs and appendages, I knew the punchline would have to be something like that. Great story! One you can, as they say, "dine out on for quite some time." Or write a pair of blog posts.

A rousing (or should I say roaring?) good story, Lois! Think we the readers were as gullible as the Waconians. And those lion photos, wonderful.

I value your adventures.... I come from an entirely different "wildlands" and I enjoy your "innocent excitement" in the adventures. I'm sure it makes everyone glad to read about them. It does for me. I have to have a counter balance to my abrasive, often horrific writings. Thanks to you and your family for helping me vacation with you vicariously. :) My sanity thanks you!

I'm feeling equally as mistreated as the camo boy.

I'd been on tenterhooks too you know.

Very worried for hubs I was.

How sweet of you to worry about Hubs. Between us girls… Hubs doesn’t worry much about himself, which is how he got himself into such a predicament. He’s VERY fortunate that cub didn’t REALLY sink his whole mouth into Hubs’ arm and take a hunk out of him.

As it is, it makes for an amusing story. Best to you, Cairn.

It has all the qualities it needs, doesn’t it? There’s a reason why there have been Six Flags over Texas. It is a unique place to live.

Yup, that’s what he told me he was doing. He’s lucky the cub didn’t tear a huge chunk out of his arm! I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched him just hold his arm out for the lion cub to chomp on! Have a taste Cubby!

It was a fun substack. I thought I was dropping enough hints that it was a spoof… but apparently not. Lots of people were concerned about Hubs and his LION BITE.

Actually… there were some REAL incidents where people did get hurt and a woman actually got killed after we were there. As far as I know, they don’t allow anyone to mix with the cubs anymore. Those baby lions are STILL strong, wild animals.

Humans are imposing into the animal world. Every year there are casualties in Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. We used to spend our summers just outside of Glacier… in those days it was bear attacks. These days the mountain lions are responsible for a lot of attacks as well.
